I had to write about Stargirl as well as Eggs because it is another one of Jerry Spinelli's interestingly weird stories.
At a school where nobody does anything out of the ordinary, dresses differently, or even speaks differently comes a girl who seems to only be there to stir things up. STARGIRL! She has been homeschooled most of her life, and joins this school wearing strange clothes, and she seems to know something about everybody, and on their birthdays she sings them happy birthday and plays her ukelele. She has no fear, she doesn't care that everybody stares and laughs.
Leo falls in love with Stargirl, and her strange ways. The more he gets to know her the more he becomes an outcast of the school.
A good book about being new, the problems with popularity, and trying too hard to fit in, as well as first loves.
Another wonderful Spinelli book
