This is a short 6 minute animated DVD of the book with the same title. Vashti doesn't think she can draw but her teacher urges her to try. She begins with a small and insignificant dot, then draws bigger dots and coloured dots until she has created her masterpiece. At the art show her collection of dots draws much attention and praise.
It is a little treasure for any parent, teacher or educator who has had to convince a child that they can do something and then be amazed when they can achieve what they set out to do - brings back memories of encouraging my children to ride their their 1st bike.
A small, simple story but with a subtle and big message. Vashti's journey of self-discovery and expression reminds us all to " make your mark and see where it takes you".
