Tiger,Tiger by Lynne Reid Banks

Nature versus nurture, Rome 30 BC - 476 AD, and the treatment of animals are the main themes of this book. Boots and Brute, twin tiger cubs are reared separately and very differently.

Though I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I must warn you that chapter seven can get pretty graphic. Strongly recommended for secondary students.

The conclusion is what I hoped for in the end, liberation for the slave and salvation for the animals...or at least that's what the epilogue says.
