Keeping Faith, Jodie Picoult

This is the second book by this author I have read, and I loved every page of it!

The story is written in a way so that there are a few stories going on along side the main story, which all tie in together during the book and at the end.

Faith is a 7-year-old girl, and her parents have just split up, after Faith and her Mum came home one day, and found the dad getting out of the shower with another woman. After a little while Faith starts talking about her new (imaginary) friend that she calls 'my guard'. Her guard makes her do some strange things in the middle of the night, and Faith starts quoting phrases out of the bible - which is strange because the family are non-practicing Jews, and Faith has never even seen a bible let along been in a church. After a visit to a child psychologist and taking medication the friend does not go away, and they realise Faith is not saying 'guard' but actually saying 'my God', the first twist, Faith see's God as a woman.

The story gets out and the media turn up, not to mention priests, rabbi's and any person with some kind of illness camp out on their front lawn.

Brilliant read, I highly recommend it!
