The Jungle Book : Mowgli's Story - Rudyard Kipling

First published over a century ago, these 3 unabridged stories tell of Mowgli's upbringing by wolves, his education by Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear and adventures with the monkey people, Kaa the snake and Shere Kahn the tiger. Having read this many times, I decided to read it to my 6 year old. Nicola Bayley's beautiful illustrations kept her interested throughout the stories and she enjoyed finding the smilarities and differences between the book and the Disney movie (a firm favourite of hers). She even told me off for updating the language as I read! (I thought the thee, thou and thy might confuse her - boy, was I told off).
